Oracle Coherence: Share and Manage Data In Clusters

Oracle Coherence is a JCache-compliant in-memory caching and data management solution for clustered J2EE applications and application servers. Oracle Coherence is an in-memory data grid solution that enables organizations to predictably scale mission-critical applications by providing fast access to frequently used data. Data grid software is middleware that reliably manages data objects in memory across many servers. By automatically and dynamically partitioning data, Oracle Coherence enables continuous data availability and transactional integrity, even in the event of a server failure. Oracle Coherence provides organizations with a robust, scale-out data abstraction layer.Developers can easily take advantage of Coherence features using the standard Java collections API to access and modify data, and use the standard JavaBean event model to receive data change notifications. Since Coherence requires only a Java Virtual Machine (JVM) to run, you can use stand-alone Java. However, you can also use any of the application server (it supports all application servers) as a container. But this is not a requirement. In this course, you use Oracle Coherence for Java version 3.4 without using any container.This course is targeted for software developers, architects, and administrators. It provides a brief overview of Oracle Coherence Data Grid. The course discusses installation, configuration and tuning of Oracle Coherence.
