Participants will receive an introduction to the different aspects that affect basic trade management processes and functions. The course allows participants to understand how RTM can be used in the merchandise importation process. RTM Fundamentals provides an overview of navigating RTM. The course begins by laying the foundation for tracking importation costs. It continues with the definition of estimated landed costs and the use of Harmonized Tariff Schedules to track duty and taxes against items. Further topics include establishing the entities used in the global supply chain: locations, partners and suppliers. Item setup is examined with emphasis on attaching import information, HTS codes and viewing landed costs. Consideration is given to placing import orders for import items and adding and viewing estimated landed costs.Later topics cover using the letter of credit functionality, tracking order transportation and customs clearance.
