This 3-day course provides an intensive language independent introduction to fundamental object-oriented concepts and techniques for the analysis and design of robust, extendable, object-oriented systems. Throughout the course, emphasis is placed on design techniques for maintainability, extensibility, and reuse. Important patterns are introduced, and instruction is provided on how to choose the appropriate patterns for a particular problem.       • Overview of object-oriented terminology, for example, instances, abstract vs. concrete classes, subclasses, subtypes, and so on
      • Fundamental object-oriented concepts, for example, encapsulation, polymorphism, dynamic binding, subtyping, and inheritance
      • Using methodologies, such as The Rational Unified Process, to drive object-oriented analysis and design process activities with deliverables
    • Modeling with UML
      • Expressing system requirements as Use Cases and build Use Case Models using UML
      • Developing static object models that describe classes and their relationships using UML
      • Developing a dynamic behavioral model expressed as UML collaboration, and sequence diagrams
    • Design Concepts
      • Designing to an interface rather than an implementation
      • Using inheritance to enhance reuse
      • Introduction to Patterns, Analysis Patterns, Design Patterns, Architectural Patterns, Organizational Patterns and Anti Patterns â¿¿ how they can fit in the development process and their impact on model
      • Selecting the appropriate pattern for a particular problem
